Equanimity means to keep balance, to keep things in perspective. It's one of the keys to life because while we cannot control everything that happens to us, we can control how we react to it.
The Buddhists understand the importance of equanimity. You’ve probably heard the term non-attachment. Buddhists practice cultivating equanimity to keep themselves planted firmly on the ground.
In a state of equanimity is that our feet are planted firmly on the ground and we're not thrown off balance one way or the other by things that happen to us, around us, or for us- depending on your point of view.
In this 11 minute guided meditation, you will learn to bring yourself back to balance when life, inevitably, knocks you off balance. Practiced repeatedly, this becomes easier and easier until eventually, it becomes natural.
